Shah alam: Johawaki Holdings Sdn Bhd group managing director and group chief executive officer Datuk Johari Mat passed away at 11.30 pm yesterday. He was 74. His son, Mohamad Akmal Johari, confirmed the news and shared that the deceased breathed his last at Avisena Hospital, Section 14, here.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi conveyed his condolences to the family through a Facebook post. Ahmad Zahid expressed that Johari's passing was a significant loss to his family, friends, and associates in the corporate sector. He also prayed for Johari's forgiveness and mentioned that he had the opportunity to pay his last respects.

Information shared by the family indicates that Johari's remains were taken to Surau Al-Munawarah, Section 13, for the first funeral prayers at 10 am. Subsequently, his remains will be transported to Surau Khalid Al-Walid at the Selangor contingent police headquarters for the second funeral prayers. He will be laid to rest at the Section 21 Muslim Cemetery after the Zohor prayers.
