Johor Polls: PH Candidate Intensifies Efforts To Ensure Voter Turnout Above 60 Pct

Johor bahru: With the Johor state election polling day just a few days away, incumbent Bukit Batu state assemblyman from Pakatan Harapan (PH), Arthur Chiong Sen Sern, is intensifying his campaign to ensure that the voter turnout on July 11 exceeds 60 per cent. Speaking at a press conference today, the effort to defend the constituency he won with a slim majority of 137 votes in 2022 will become even brighter if the voter turnout on July 11 exceeds 60 per cent.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Arthur and the Bukit Batu PH machinery are engaging in daily campaigns, with voters appearing receptive to the manifesto and offerings presented to them. Arthur stated that the PH machinery in Bukit Batu has ramped up its campaign efforts, and feedback from voters of various races has shown positive development towards him.

Meanwhile, Arthur commended the 'mature politics' culture displayed by the candidates contesting in the area, emphasizing the positive nature of their competition and mutual well-wishing during campaign encounters. He expressed confidence in the voters' wisdom to make informed decisions, highlighting their absolute right to choose their representative.

Arthur also outlined seven key determinations to ensure continued development in Bukit Batu, including initiatives like a data centre industry career bridge, road widening, a smart traffic light system, health clinic upgrades, combating vape and drug abuse among youth, strengthening tourism, expanding school facilities, and offering free Malay and History tuition classes. He emphasized that these determinations are not just campaign promises but ongoing efforts he has been implementing during his term.

The voter turnout in the 2022 Johor election was approximately 54.9 per cent. The upcoming Johor polls are scheduled for July 11, with early voting set for July 7.
