Johor Set to Complete Repair of 800 Flood-Damaged Hot Spots in Two Days

Johor Bahru: Repair work on potholes at approximately 800 hot spots damaged by floods in Johor is anticipated to be finished within two days starting today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, State Public Works, Transport, Infrastructure and Communications Committee chairman Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh announced that the repair efforts will focus on five affected districts: Johor Bahru, Kota Tinggi, Pontian, Kluang, and Kulai. The total allocation for this project is RM560,000. Most of the repairs, around 500 hot spots, are concentrated in the Johor Bahru district. Fazli mentioned that following a coordination meeting, efforts are underway to ensure all locations are addressed within the specified timeframe, which began at midnight last night.

Fazli expressed hope for favorable weather conditions to ensure the smooth progression of the repairs, especially with the upcoming Aidilfitri celebrations. "We pray for good weather, as Aidilfitri will be celebrated soon to facilitate road users," he stated.

In addition, Fazli addressed the situation concerning the bridge link in Kampung Felda Air Tawar 1 and the damaged structure of the Sungai Layau bridge in the Kota Tinggi district. Repair work on these structures will commence once appropriate solution measures are identified. "Because these two locations involve rivers, we are afraid of strong currents, so we have to wait for the situation and take into account weather factors. The Public Works Department has looked at the area, so we will find a solution as soon as possible," he explained.
