Muar: A lucky draw offering a motorcycle as the grand prize awaits participants of the Merdeka 6.8KM Fun Run and Walk, to be held at Dataran Tanjung Emas, Muar, Johor, on July 27. The event is being organized in conjunction with the launch of National Month and the Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2025 Campaign and aims to attract over 1,000 participants from all walks of life. It is open to the public free of charge.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Information Department (JaPen) director-general Julina Johan stated that the first 1,000 individuals who register for the event will receive exclusive T-shirts, while the first 1,000 participants to complete the 6.8-kilometre run will be awarded medals and qualify for the lucky draw. Julina emphasized that the programme aligns with the Malaysia Sihat agenda and aims to offer a unique experience by incorporating elements of nationalism along the running route.

Julina mentioned that all participants will be given the Jalur Gemilang, and patriotic songs will be played throughout the 6.8-kilometre run. To add to the event's atmosphere, a brass band from Sekolah Tinggi Muar and Pentarama from JaPen will perform. She highlighted that the event not only encourages a healthy lifestyle but also serves as a platform to strengthen the spirit of unity among people of all races.

The event is also set to coincide with the Launch Ceremony of the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2025 Campaign, which will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. It will feature a variety of programmes, including the Kita MADANI Carnival from July 25 to 27, which aims to bring government services directly to the people. In addition to the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang Convoy, various family- and community-oriented activities such as colouring contests and cultural performances will be held.
