PUTRAJAYA: All Road Transport Department (JPJ) offices across the nation are slated for phased upgrades, focusing on a new customer-friendly model, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the initiative is designed to enhance service quality within the agency. While no budget estimate has been provided, Loke emphasized prioritizing the completion of the upgraded Putrajaya office. Certain high-traffic locations will be the first to receive attention due to persistent congestion issues. Loke mentioned potential plans to open a new office in Nilai to alleviate pressure on the crowded Bangi office, which currently operates within a shop lot.
Loke also addressed questions regarding funding, noting that the ministry has yet to submit a budget request to the Finance Ministry (MOF). The strategy is to first showcase the ministry's capabilities in executing this initiative before seeking financial assistance from the MOF.
During the launch of the new Putrajaya JPJ office, Loke highlighted the modern facilities and increased customer capacity. The office has expanded its service offerings from 27 to 106, incorporating technologies like JPJ Assist and kiosk services to streamline customer interactions. Additionally, the JPJ has introduced a summons payment feature on the MyJPJ app, allowing users to pay fines via their mobile devices.
