Kuala lumpur: The Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education (JPPKK) demonstrated its strategic capability in strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) through the successful implementation of the Polytechnic and Community College (POLYCC) development projects worth nearly RM432 million last year. Its deputy director-general (Planning) Ulaimi Yahya emphasized the continued commitment of JPPKK and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) to ensure every development initiative is carefully planned, effectively implemented, and closely monitored with integrity, delivering the best possible returns to the people and the country.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this success is the result of the collective efforts of all POLYCC staff, the continuous support of the MOHE, and strong cooperation from strategic implementing partners. The initiative not only strengthens the TVET learning ecosystem but also serves as a catalyst for developing highly skilled human capital, a key national agenda. Ulaimi Yahya highlighted that POLYCC has demonstrated a more mature and strategic capability in managing institutional planning and development amid an increasingly challenging TVET education landscape.
Significant improvements were recorded throughout the implementation of the development projects, in planning quality, efficiency of physical implementation, governance compliance, and alignment of projects with the needs of local industries and communities. The approved development projects involved the department as the implementing agency, overseeing more than RM186 million in funding and encompassing 60 projects at 48 polytechnics and 12 projects at community colleges nationwide.
Ulaimi Yahya reported that the implementation performance translated into development expenditure of more than RM322 million, representing 98.38 percent of the revised allocation as of mid-December 2025. He expressed appreciation to the Public Works Department (JKR) and the project implementation teams for their strategic collaboration, technical expertise, and professionalism, which ensured the projects were completed according to prescribed specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
The ceremony also marked the continuation of JPPKK's commitment to advancing the country's TVET excellence, with development efforts focused on delivering direct benefits to students, lecturers, and the industry community.
