Johor bahru: The Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) Masterplan and Investment Blueprint is slated for a launch by the fourth quarter of 2026, as stated by Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir. He mentioned that the document is already prepared, with government agencies actively working to fulfill the investment commitments made to the economic zone.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Akmal Nasrullah shared these insights during a press conference after inaugurating the JS-SEZ Executive Forum 2026. He emphasized that the details of the document will be further explored when the appropriate time arrives.

The JS-SEZ Masterplan and Investment Blueprint is poised to act as a comprehensive roadmap. It will outline a strategic, systematic, and collaborative framework aimed at propelling the next phase of cross-border economic development.

Nor Hisham Mohd Yusof, the federal commissioner and director of Corporate Management and Finance at the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), stated that the blueprint was developed in collaboration with the Economy Ministry. It will provide detailed insights into key investment focus areas, priority sectors, infrastructure enhancements, and talent ecosystem development.
