JSCPT 2026: Tunku Mahkota Ismail Leads Royal Johor to Victory in Opening Match

Royal johor: Royal Johor began their campaign in the Johor Super Crown Polo Tournament (JSCPT) 2026 in style by defeating Temasek 11-7 at Istana Pasir Pelangi here today. Royal Johor, led by the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, put up a solid performance to lay down a marker.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tunku Mahkota Ismail was in scintillating form, bagging five goals despite injuring his right hand during training recently. Pablo 'Polito' Pieres contributed with four goals while Juan Bautista Panzillo added a brace for Royal Johor. Temasek replied through Ignatius 'Nachi' Du Plessis, who scored a hat-trick, John Paul Clarkin, who netted a brace, as well as Alfonso 'Alfon' Pieres and Colonel Ravi Rathore, who chipped in with one apiece.

In the other match, J-Corp edged Digital Bridge 8-7. Earlier, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, attended the tournament.

The JSCPT will run from today until September 6, bringing together five world-class teams featuring elite international players. The five teams are Royal Johor, Temasek, Korea Polo, J-Corp, and Digital Bridge. The tournament features a 22-goal handicap competition, which is the highest level ever staged in Malaysia.

The JSCPT is broadcast live on PoloLine.TV, bringing the Royal Johor polo action to a global audience. The organisation of the tournament was driven by the joint vision of Tunku Mahkota Ismail and world polo icon Polito Pieres to position Johor as a key destination on the international polo circuit.
