Kajang Hospital Rebrands As Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin Hospital

Kajang: Kajang Hospital has been rebranded to Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin Hospital. The ceremony to unveil the new name was officiated by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah. Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin was in attendance at the event.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event also saw the opening of the hospital's Women and Children Complex (WCC), which began operations on October 7 last year. In his speech, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad highlighted that Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin Hospital is one of the major specialist hospitals equipped with modern facilities. It has the capacity to accommodate more than 28,000 patients annually with 17 specialised services.

Dzulkefly mentioned that the hospital is part of the fourth Klang Valley Cluster Hospital Programme, with Sultan Idris Shah Hospital in Serdang as the lead cluster hospital. It benefits from specialised services through regular visits from medical experts and resource sharing, which enhances the quality of care for patients.

He further elaborated on the WCC, stating that the complex is part of the Health Ministry's initiatives to reduce congestion, expand access to treatment, and ensure optimal services for patients. The nine-story treatment complex is equipped with 272 beds, 14 labour rooms, six operating theatres, one CT scan, and provides paediatric dental and audiology services.

Dzulkefly also noted that 1,043 new positions have been approved to ensure the facility is supported by skilled and specialised healthcare personnel. The RM287 million facility spans 5.43 hectares of land.
