Kasih@HAWANA X TM Fund Contribution Deeply Meaningful To Veteran Broadcaster

Kuala lumpur: Broadcasting industry veteran Uleyvia Ubang, a recipient of the Tabung Kasih@HAWANA X TM, described the assistance as deeply meaningful, particularly as it was presented in conjunction with Malaysia Day today. Uleyvia, 58, better known as Ivy, has been living with chronic kidney disease since 2015 and currently undergoes regular dialysis treatment. She has served as an executive producer at Cats FM for 30 years, since 1996.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Uleyvia expressed that the honor made her feel acknowledged and appreciated as a media professional. Despite battling illness, she continues to work with transparency and finds joy in her media role. She shared her sentiments with reporters after receiving the contribution at her home.

The contribution was presented by Ministry of Communications Secretary-General Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah. Also present were the Ministry of Communications Deputy Secretary-General (Strategic Communications and Creative Industry) Datuk Bahria Mohd Tamil; the Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin; and the agency's Editor-in-Chief, Arul Rajoo Durar Raj. TM One Sarawak general manager Mohd Zulkifli Ismuni was also in attendance.

The Kasih@HAWANA X TM Fund is an initiative under the Kasih@HAWANA Fund, supported through Telekom Malaysia's (TM) corporate social responsibility (CSR) contributions, to provide assistance to media practitioners in need. Since distribution began in June 2026, a total of 77 media practitioners nationwide have benefited from the initiative. Overall, 847 media practitioners nationwide have received assistance under the Kasih@HAWANA Fund since its inception in April 2023. The initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Communications, is implemented through Bernama.
