Kuala lumpur: Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari has given words of encouragement to national rider Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli ahead of the Moto3 season opener at the Grand Prix (GP) in Thailand this week. He said he had met the 19-year-old rider previously and had also invited him to break fast with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Masjid Wilayah Kuala Lumpur last week.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Mohammed Taufiq expressed his optimism after launching the My Athlete Centre at the Pavilion MSN. He shared that they had a lengthy discussion to motivate Hakim Danish, conveying hopes for a strong performance in Thailand. He urged the young rider to uphold the spirit of making Malaysia proud and expressed confidence in his potential to achieve even more.
Dr Mohammed Taufiq highlighted Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's surprise upon learning that Hakim Danish began his motorsports journey at the age of seven. He noted that despite not coming from a MotoGP background, Hakim Danish's achievements are a source of pride for the nation. The minister emphasized the importance of grassroots programs in developing athletes like Hakim Danish and affirmed the Ministry of Youth and Sports' commitment to collaborating with various parties to nurture more grassroots athletes.
