Kota Bharu:Pasir Mas Any attempt to overthrow a government that governs justly is considered forbidden, or haram, in Islam, according to Kelantan religious scholar Syeikh Wazir Che Awang Al-Makki.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Syeikh Wazir stated that such actions are akin to those of the Khawarij, a historical group known for opposing the rule of Saidina Uthman and fighting against Saidina Ali. He emphasized that these actions should not be attempted, particularly against the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The statement was made at the Sebarkan Salam@Kota Bharu Berselawat programme held at the grounds of Masjid Muhammadi. The event was attended by notable figures, including Prime Minister Anwar, Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr. Zulkifli Hasan, and his deputy Marhamah Rosli.
Another religious scholar, Abdul Rahman Omar, expressed that continued attempts by certain groups to undermine the country's leadership demonstrate ingratitude for the national stability. Abdul Rahman, the head of Pondok Aur Cina, remarked that a leader's appointment is ultimately determined by Allah, with public support and the selection process serving as the means for leadership appointment. He also prayed for Prime Minister Anwar to have a long life and continue leading the country for the benefit of the people.
