Kuala lumpur: Six bank accounts belonging to Khee San Bhd's wholly owned subsidiary, Khee San Food Industries Sdn Bhd (KSFI), have been frozen following an investigation under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the candy maker stated that KSFI was notified on August 21 that the six accounts maintained with a bank had been frozen due to the investigation. The company highlighted that these accounts are actively used to support the day-to-day operations of the group.
Khee San confirmed it is taking the necessary steps to resolve the matter and will fully cooperate with the relevant authorities during the investigation. The company acknowledged that the freezing of the accounts is expected to cause some disruption to its operations based on the current information available to its board.
However, the board believes that the situation is not anticipated to have a significant financial impact on the group at this time. Khee San assured that it will provide further announcements as material developments occur in relation to the matter.
