Tokyo: Kioxia Corporation has announced the development of an AI-driven image recognition technology designed to automatically identify products moving through logistics workflows. In collaboration with Tsubakimoto Chain Co. and EAGLYS Inc., this innovation aims to enhance automation and efficiency within logistics, allowing organizations to swiftly adapt to market shifts while managing costs and maintaining service quality. Central to this advancement are the KIOXIA AiSAQS and Memory-Centric AI technologies, which facilitate scalable AI adoption as product types continue to grow.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the rise in e-commerce transactions has led to increased volumes and diversity of products within logistics networks. Concurrently, labor shortages are prompting a need for improved operational efficiency through AI. Traditional image recognition AI systems, which rely on deep learning models, require parameter tuning and retraining for new or seasonal products, a process that is both time-consuming and costly in terms of power usage and operational expenses. The jointly developed technology by Kioxia and its partners will be showcased during the 2025 International Robot Exhibition.
