Putrajaya: The Works Ministry (KKR) has submitted its proposals for infrastructure development initiatives to the Finance Ministry (MoF) for consideration under Budget 2027, which will be tabled next month. Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi announced the submission while emphasizing that the ministry has thoroughly reviewed its requirements and identified key areas needing attention in the forthcoming budget.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister Nanta Linggi stated that KKR has compiled a comprehensive list of initiatives it wishes to pursue and is currently in the waiting phase after having submitted its proposals. He shared these details with reporters at the Malaysia BIM Day 2026 event held in Putrajaya. The minister remarked, "KKR has a lot of wish list items. It's alright, we are still in the process. We have discussed and looked in depth at what we (KKR) need. So, we have submitted our wish list, now we just have to wait."

Furthermore, it was noted that KKR received the largest development allocation among the 28 ministries in the previous budget cycle. The ministry was allocated RM9.6 billion, which constitutes almost 10 percent of the RM81 billion total Development Expenditure (DE) for 2026. This significant allocation highlights the importance placed on infrastructure development by the government.

Budget 2027 is anticipated to be presented by the Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, on October 9. The proposals submitted by KKR will be considered in shaping the infrastructure landscape of Malaysia as part of the upcoming fiscal plan.
