Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued an alert for severe thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds across Kuala Lumpur and nine states until 8 pm tonight.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the severe weather is expected to impact Perlis, Kedah, and specific areas in Perak, including Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Mualim. In Terengganu, the alert covers Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, and Dungun.

The warning extends to Pahang, affecting Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Bera, Pekan, and Rompin. In Selangor, the areas under alert include Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Petaling. Johor's Kluang, Mersing, and Kota Tinggi are also on the warning list.

Additionally, the alert encompasses parts of Sarawak, namely Sibu (Kanowit), Kapit (Song), and Miri (Subis and Beluru), as well as areas in Sabah, including the interior (Sipitang), West Coast (Kota Belud), Tawau (Lahad Datu), Sandakan (Kinabatangan), and Kudat (Kota Marudu and Pitas).
