Kuala lumpur: The Kuala Lumpur Speakers' Club today welcomed 10 new members, known as the 'Vibrant Voices 2025', who officially graduated after completing a 10-week public speaking programme.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, club president Tunku Dara Tunku Tan Sri Naquiah Tuanku Ja'afar highlighted that the group had spent weeks stepping out of their comfort zones by attending weekly sessions, completing assignments, and taking turns hosting classes. These activities were part of the intensive training required before being accepted as full members of the club.

Tunku Dara Naquiah explained that prospective members must demonstrate public speaking skills, as it is the core focus of the club. Candidates are proposed and seconded by current club members, undergo an interview by the committee, and are only accepted as members upon graduation.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Biduanita Negara Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin, whom Tunku Dara Naquiah praised as a national icon for her achievements in music, business, and humanitarian efforts. Siti Nurhaliza presented certificates to the graduates.

Tunku Dara Naquiah also expressed gratitude to volunteer instructor Dr Baljit Kaur for her commitment to conducting the course. She noted the significant time and effort Dr Baljit dedicated to ensuring the success of the public speaking classes, which are organized annually as a recruitment initiative for the Kuala Lumpur Speakers' Club.

The club, established in 1970 by women who attended a 1969 public speaking course conducted by the late Begum Shaikh, wife of the then Pakistan High Commissioner to Malaysia, serves as a platform for women to improve their communication skills and build camaraderie.
