KLCI Futures Close Lower in Sync with Cash Market

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today, aligning with the performance of the underlying cash market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the June 2026 and December 2026 contracts both decreased by 17.5 points, settling at 1,662.5 and 1,647.0, respectively. The September 2026 contract experienced a decline of 18.5 points, closing at 1,643.5, while the new month July 2026 contract stood at 1,664.0.

The turnover for the day fell to 17,811 lots from 18,199 lots recorded on Friday. Open interest also saw a reduction, decreasing to 47,378 contracts from the previous 53,784 contracts.

By market close at 5 pm, the FBM KLCI had dropped 10.33 points to 1,672.74, compared to Friday's close of 1,683.07. It is noteworthy that Bursa Malaysia and its subsidiaries remained closed on Monday and Tuesday due to the celebration of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's birthday and the replacement holiday for Wesak Day, respectively.
