Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower on Monday. The trading session saw a dip in futures contracts for various months, with the August 2026, September 2026, and December 2026 contracts each falling by 0.5 of a point to settle at 1,725.5, 1,704.5, and 1,706.0, respectively. Meanwhile, the March 2027 contract experienced a larger decline, dropping four points to 1,685.0.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the market activity reflected a decrease in turnover to 4,760 lots, down from 5,382 lots recorded last Friday. Additionally, open interest in the futures contracts reduced to 40,647 contracts, compared to 41,862 contracts previously. By the close of trading at 5 pm, the FBM KLCI itself had eased by 1.50 points to 1,725.89, down from the previous close of 1,727.39 recorded last Friday.
