KLCI Futures Contracts See Gains as Market Closes Higher

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today, reflecting the upward trend of the underlying cash market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the May 2026 contract rose by 7.0 points to 1,719.0, while the June 2026 contract gained 5.5 points, closing at 1,716.5. Additionally, the September 2026 and December 2026 contracts each increased by 4.5 points, ending the day at 1,697.50 and 1,698.50, respectively.

Turnover increased to 13,089 lots from the previous 9,772 lots on Thursday, and open interest also saw a rise, reaching 43,086 contracts compared to the previous 40,102 contracts. At the close of the trading day, the FBM KLCI itself rose by 4.31 points, or 0.25 percent, to 1,712.67 from yesterday's close of 1,708.36.
