Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher on Wednesday. The August 2026 and September 2026 contracts gained 11 points each, closing at 1,744.0 and 1,722.0, respectively. Meanwhile, the December 2026 contract saw an increase of 8.5 points, ending at 1,721.5, and the March 2027 contract added eight points to reach 1,706.0.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the turnover for the futures market increased to 7,336 lots from 6,661 lots recorded on Tuesday. However, the open interest slightly eased to 46,046 contracts from the previous 46,453 contracts. At 5 pm, the FBM KLCI itself rose by 10.15 points, reaching 1,741.61, compared to the prior day's close of 1,731.46.
