Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives experienced a decline today, aligning with the performance of the underlying cash market.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the March 2026 and September 2026 contracts both saw a decrease of 23.5 points, closing at 1,685.5 and 1,668.0, respectively. Similarly, the April 2026 contract dropped by 22.0 points to settle at 1,689.0, while the June 2026 contract fell by 21.0 points to 1,686.0.
Turnover for the futures market saw a significant decrease, falling to 23,780 lots compared to 66,127 lots recorded last Friday. Additionally, open interest in the market reduced to 56,980 contracts from 102,348 contracts previously.
By 5 pm, the FBM KLCI index had decreased by 24.75 points, equating to a 1.44 percent drop, closing at 1,687.90. This is a decline from its previous close of 1,712.65 last Friday.
