KLCI Futures Experience Marginal Decline

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives experienced a marginal decline today, mirroring the trend of the underlying cash market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the trading session closed with the March 2026 and September 2026 contracts each dropping by one point to settle at 1,709.0 and 1,691.5, respectively. Meanwhile, the April 2026 contract slipped 1.5 points to 1,711.0, and the June 2026 contract saw a decrease of three points, closing at 1,707.0.

Turnover decreased to 66,127 lots compared to 72,802 recorded yesterday. Open interest also saw a reduction, narrowing to 102,348 contracts from the previous 106,155. Despite the futures market's performance, at 5 pm, the FBM KLCI index exhibited an increase of 1.76 points, reaching 1,712.65, up from the previous close of 1,710.89 recorded on Thursday.
