KLCI Futures Show Mixed Results as Turnover Increases

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended with mixed results today, reflecting the softer performance observed in the underlying cash market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the April 2026 contract saw an increase of 0.5 point, closing at 1,712.00. Similarly, the May 2026 contract added 0.5 point, closing at 1,713.00. In contrast, the June 2026 contract experienced a decrease of 0.5 point, settling at 1,712.00, while the September 2026 contract remained unchanged at 1,691.50.

Turnover for the day rose to 6,661 lots compared to 5,912 lots recorded on Tuesday. Additionally, open interest increased to 39,107 contracts from the previous 38,566 contracts. By 5 pm, the FBM KLCI had eased by 4.94 points, or 0.29 percent, reaching 1,710.39 from Tuesday's close of 1,715.33.
