KPDN Launches e-Wallet Incentive at Rahmah Ramadan Bazaars in Kedah

Kedah: The Kedah Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) is set to distribute 36,000 e-wallet incentives to visitors at six Ramadan Rahmah bazaars across Kedah. The initiative aims to promote digital transactions and support the local community in transitioning towards a cashless economy. According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Kedah enforcement director of KPDN, Muhammad Nizam Jamaludin, announced that the selected bazaars are located in Taman Mahsuri, Jitra; Wisma Ria, Sungai Petani; Klang Lama, Kulim; Pekan Baling; Kuah, Langkawi, and Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Setar. Selected visitors will receive an incentive of RM20 each, while traders offering the RAHMAH Menu will receive RM100 to encourage them to provide more RM5 menu options, aiding in reducing consumer expenses. Muhammad Nizam noted that the initiative, which has expanded from four locations last year to six this year, allocates 6,000 e-wallet redemptions per location. This effort not only promotes digital transactions but also educates the community on the benefits of a cashless economy. Additionally, Pen Petroleum Sdn Bhd has partnered with the ministry to contribute 20 petrol cards valued at RM50 each to selected RAHMAH Menu traders. The Rahmah Ramadan Bazaar is a government effort to alleviate the cost of living by offering affordable dishes for breaking fast. The traders provide a variety of RAHMAH Menu options, including rice with side dishes, chicken rice, nasi kandar, roti john, vermicelli soup, satay, curry noodles, nasi lemak, and murtabak. Meanwhile, Muhammad Nizam reported that, as of March 8, operations conducted at Ramadan bazaars and business premises in Kedah have not identified any unreasonable price increases by traders.
