Masjid tanah: A raid by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) on a fenced premises in Masjid Tanah, Melaka, yesterday uncovered the suspected misappropriation of 17,460 litres of diesel. KPDN Enforcement director-general Datuk Azman Adam said three men were arrested to assist in the investigation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the special operation, conducted at about 9 am, involved nine enforcement officers from the Putrajaya KPDN Enforcement Division and Melaka KPDN, based on intelligence gathered. The fenced premises in Kampung Paya Mengkuang was identified as a site used for the illegal storage and transfer of diesel. Further inspections found 17,460 litres of diesel stored in a skid tank and two tanker lorries.
Enforcement officers seized all the diesel, along with the skid tank, a pump, four connecting hoses, two tanker lorries, and a cargo lorry. Five mobile phones of various brands and several documents were also seized. A notice under Section 8(1) of the Supply Control Act 1961 was also issued, requiring the declaration of the stock and submission of the relevant documents.
