Sandakan: The Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) has approved an allocation of RM34.2 million for development initiatives in Sandakan set for 2025. These projects will be overseen by the ministry's agencies, as stated by the minister, Nga Kor Ming.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the approved projects include the upgrade and construction of a solid waste dumpsite in Labuk, valued at RM30 million, anticipated to be completed by August 2027. Additionally, the Malaysian Housing Maintenance Fund has allocated RM500,000 for painting four Taman Singapore Apartment blocks, with an additional RM500,000 for painting other blocks.
Nga Kor Ming also highlighted the restoration work at the Jalan Singapore Hall, involving cleaning, upgrading, painting, and rebuilding drain covers, with a total cost of RM400,000. Further, KPKT has approved RM2 million for upgrades at four local markets: Pasar Elopura, Pasar Kim Fung, Pasar Umum, and Pasar Sim-Sim.
The ministry has also sanctioned RM400,000 each for constructing a basketball court roof in Taman Indah Jaya and upgrading a futsal court at the Harmoni People's Housing Programme. Nga expressed hope that these projects would be executed as scheduled, contributing to inclusive national development for the people's welfare and prosperity.
