KPKT Resolves 6,505 Housing And Strata Management Tribunal Cases Until June This Year

Kuala lumpur: The Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) has resolved 6,505 Housing and Strata Management Tribunal (TPPS) cases until June this year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the cases registered have consistently shown an increasing trend annually, with 6,484 cases recorded until June this year.

For the 2024 period, a total of 12,883 cases were registered at TPPS, with 11,839 cases successfully resolved. The resolved cases are expected to continue to rise based on the TPPS's successful track record in previous years.

TPPS comprises two tribunals-the Tribunal for Homebuyers' Claims (TTPR) and the Strata Management Tribunal (TPS)-which serve as an alternative forum to resolve disputes between home buyers and housing developers, as well as matters related to strata management efficiently and cost-effectively.

As for the award value, the ministry reported that the total value of awards issued under the TTPR last year was RM26,444,180.82, while the total value of awards issued by the TPS was RM60,053,136.58.

Earlier, Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming presented letters of appointment to seven TPPS presidents whose terms of service were extended in a brief ceremony at the KPKT, bringing the total number of TPPS presidents to 42, comprising 14 TTPR presidents and 28 TPS presidents. "This addition is hoped to improve the efficiency of case handling and ensure compliance with the set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)," according to the KPKT.

Meanwhile, Nga in the same statement said the TPPS achievement was in line with the MADANI Government's aspirations in improving the public service delivery system. He also referred to the World Competitiveness Report 2025 by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), which saw Malaysia jump to 23rd place from the previous 34th position. "This improvement reflects the government's continuous efforts to strengthen efficiency, transparency, and integrity in service delivery to the people," he added.

KPKT through TPPS is always committed and focused on providing efficient services to customers, in line with the government's intention to focus on stratified housing management to provide quality and comfortable housing and environment. "This proves that the role of KPKT is not only limited to providing housing, but also to the management and resolution of strata issues," according to the statement.
