KPKT Rolls Out 10 Pct Housing Discount Initiative At AREC 2026

Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) is inviting the public to seize a 10 per cent discount on home purchases during the ASEAN Real Estate Conference (AREC) 2026. The conference will be held from July 29 to Aug 1 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the special initiative is designed to help ease the financial burden on buyers, particularly with upfront costs. As the largest real estate conference in the ASEAN region, AREC 2026 brings together industry leaders, investors, financial institutions, and property developers from Malaysia and beyond, while also offering visitors the perfect opportunity to explore housing options, financing solutions, and exclusive deals all under one roof.

"This initiative reflects the MADANI Government's commitment to expanding home ownership access for Malaysians through strategic collaboration between the government, financial institutions and property industry players. Visitors can also seek advice on financing under the Housing Credit Guarantee Corporation (SJKP). Through Budget 2026, the MADANI Government has increased SJKP's guarantee limit by RM20 billion," the statement read.

KPKT said the increase in SJKP's guarantee limit is aimed at helping 80,000 first-time homebuyers, particularly those with irregular incomes, the self-employed, and gig economy workers, gain access to financing and realise their dream of owning a home. As of June 30, the initiative has benefited 118,731 homebuyers, with total financing guarantees amounting to RM28.92 billion.

In the same statement, KPKT Minister Nga Kor Ming said AREC 2026 is a one-stop platform bringing together housing offers, financing options and advisory services to help Malaysians make the best decisions when it comes to home ownership. "I urge all Malaysians not to miss this opportunity to attend AREC 2026. This is the perfect time to make your dream of owning a home a reality by enjoying the 10 per cent discount offered by participating developers. Come with your family, grab the exclusive deals, explore the best housing options, and enjoy the various activities on offer. Don't let this golden opportunity slip by. Such offers are only available during AREC 2026," he said, setting a target of 100,000 visitors over the four-day event.

In addition to the property exhibition featuring residential projects from leading developers, visitors can also seek consultations at the KPKT Pavilion as well as attend forums and knowledge-sharing sessions by local and international property experts. AREC 2026 is poised to inject fresh momentum into Malaysia's property sector, targeting RM1.5 billion in transactions. This, in turn, would bolster the national housing ecosystem and bring the MADANI Government's vision closer to reality, ensuring that more Malaysians can own quality, comfortable, and affordable homes.
