Kuala lumpur: Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTMB) will launch two new ETS services for the Kluang - KL Sentral - Kluang route, operating every weekend starting October 10. The new services will provide 315 seats for each train, including a Business Class coach, and will specifically run on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this initiative is designed to complement the existing daily schedule and offer significant convenience for Kluang residents traveling to Kuala Lumpur. It aims to reduce travel time, enhance comfort, and alleviate weekend traffic congestion. KTMB expressed that the shorter ETS journey offers users more options to plan work, meetings, or family holidays to the capital.
The new service schedule includes a journey departing Kluang at 9:33 am and arriving at KL Sentral at 1:00 pm. The return trip will leave KL Sentral at 5:35 pm and reach Kluang at 9:08 pm. Tickets will be available through the KTMB Mobile (KITS) app, kiosks, or KTMB's official website starting tomorrow at 10 am.
On August 30, KTMB introduced the daily ETS service for the KL Sentral-Kluang sector, which received a strong response, with 4,461 passengers recorded on weekdays (Monday to Thursday) until September 28. During the same period, 6,412 passengers utilized the service on weekends (Friday to Sunday), totaling 10,873 passengers.
KTMB remains attentive to customer needs and will continue to evaluate the potential for adding more trips according to demand, especially during festive seasons, school holidays, and long breaks. This step offers the public a more flexible, convenient, and efficient travel option, particularly for Kluang residents commuting to Kuala Lumpur.
