KTMB Records 82,896 Ticket Sales In Just 24 Hours

Kuala lumpur: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has recorded an impressive sales milestone, with 82,896 tickets snapped up within just 24 hours, after sales opened yesterday for travel between Jan 1 and April 30 next year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, KTMB chief technical officer (acting group chief executive officer) Ahmad Nizam Mohamed Amin said that the overwhelming demand in such a short time reflects the high level of public confidence in trains as a preferred mode of travel. 'The extraordinary response within just 24 hours proves that trains remain the preferred choice among the public,' he stated in a KTMB statement.

The company acknowledged that while the number of unsuccessful transactions was minimal, with only 79 reported, KTMB remains committed to enhancing its system to ensure a more seamless and reliable ticket-purchasing experience. Refunds for these unsuccessful transactions are currently being processed and are expected to be completed within 14 days, in line with the respective banks' procedures.

Additionally, KTMB extended its gratitude to the government, particularly the Ministry of Transport, for its dedication to gradually introducing new train sets. This initiative is expected to enhance service frequency, capacity, and passenger comfort significantly.

Customers are encouraged to plan their journeys early for the upcoming holiday season and are advised to check the latest train schedules via the KTMB Mobile application. For further information, they may visit www.ktmb.com.my or contact the KTMB Call Centre at 03-9779 1200.
