Kuching City FC Returns to Revamped Stadium for Home Matches

Kuching:Kuching City FC is set to return to their home ground at Stadium Taha Ariffin after more than a month of playing away due to stadium upgrading works.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the team's executive chairman, Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, expressed the team's eagerness to perform at home, particularly highlighting the anticipation of the new players to play in front of their supporters. He noted that while integrating new players was necessary due to the season's packed schedule, the team's progress indicates growing cohesion among the players.

Fazzrudin also mentioned that Stadium Taha Ariffin has received approval from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) as a venue for international matches following an inspection conducted on September 23. This approval will enable Sarawak fans to witness matches involving teams from South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Cambodia, although some upgrading works, like stadium lights and a broadcast room, are still underway.

The stadium now boasts a capacity of 17,584 spectators with numbered seating, and facilities such as stands, changing rooms, referees' room, match commissioner's room, toilets, lighting, and cleanliness have also been enhanced.

Kuching City FC is scheduled to play against Hong Kong club Kitchee FC on October 15 in the AFC Champions League Two.
