Lantronix and Swarmer Join Forces to Enhance UAS Compute Modules

Los angeles: Lantronix Inc. (Nasdaq: LTRX), a global provider of Edge AI and Industrial IoT solutions, has announced a strategic collaboration with Swarmer Inc. (Nasdaq: SWMR), a drone autonomy software company, to develop a custom compute platform specifically designed for Group 1 Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The partnership aims to accelerate the deployment of small, low-cost drones for defense programs in Ukraine, the U.S., and allied nations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Swarmer's technology has been instrumental in over 100,000 real-world combat missions in Ukraine since April 2024. The collaboration with Lantronix will see the integration of Swarmer's combat-tested software into a production-ready NDAA-compliant compute platform. Saleel Awsare, president and CEO of Lantronix, emphasized the importance of deploying autonomy software on effective hardware, highlighting that the new platform will provide operators with approximately four times the processing power. This enhancement will optimize features such as visual navigation, automated target recognition, pixel lock, and advanced teaming algorithms.
