Kuala lumpur: KFC Malaysia is enlivening the 2025 National Day celebration with the unveiling of 14 unique murals at selected outlets nationwide, featuring the creativity of local artists to further ignite the spirit of independence this year.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, KFC Malaysia Chief Marketing Officer Hanim Mazam stated that the murals, themed 'KFC Cara Kita' (KFC Our Way), were created by 11 local artists who expressed their interpretation of togetherness and cherished memories shared among Malaysians. 'For KFC, we have been in Malaysia for 52 years since 1973, so there are countless moments shared with Malaysians, from the smallest to the biggest, and throughout it all we have been there with the people. For us, KFC has played a big role in strengthening bonds between friends and families,' she said during a media briefing session.
Hanim further explained that the murals, painted at 14 selected outlets across every state, symbolise Malaysia's 14 states as well as the 14 stripes and points of the Jalur Gemilang, further strengthening the campaign's tribute to Malaysia. She emphasized the intent to add vibrancy to these outlets by choosing long-standing locations with high footfall and ample space for the artwork.
Additionally, beyond being artistic expressions for the National Day celebration, the public has the opportunity to own these artworks through limited edition Touch 'n Go Charms designed by Bingka KL, available exclusively via the KFC app at selected outlets.
Katun, whose real name is Abdul Hafiz Abdul Rahman, shared that his murals at KFC Raja Laut, Kuala Lumpur and KFC Wisma Gerakan, Negeri Sembilan were inspired by the brand's presence during his upbringing. He portrayed the idea of togetherness, a common theme witnessed at the KFC near his home.
Artist Adrihana Rashid, behind Bingka KL, incorporated a picnic motif with soft colour blends at KFC Taiping Lake Garden, Perak and KFC Setia Tropika, Johor. The motifs, highlighting local kuih, aimed to portray KFC as a go-to food for gatherings alongside traditional delicacies.
Other participating outlets include KFC Shah Alam Seksyen 2, Selangor; KFC Petron Dungun Southbound, Terengganu; KFC Ranau, Sabah; and KFC Kangar Jaya, Perlis. Additionally, involved outlets are KFC Metrocity, Sarawak; KFC Sungai Udang, Melaka; KFC Palm Beach Teluk Cempedak, Pahang; KFC Bandar Puteri Jaya, Kedah; KFC Stadium Kota Bharu, Kelantan; and KFC Setia Sentral Juru, Penang.
