Local entrepreneurs reap benefits by joining KBM

JOHOR BAHRU, Oct 15 (Bernama) — Karnival Barangan Malaysia (KBM) is giving benefits to local product entrepreneurs by marketing and promoting their goods and generating revenue for them.

 

Norli Creation sewing craft company owner, Norida Dahlan, 58, said the response she received at the KBM held at Angsana Johor Bahru Mall, here was very positive and encouraging.

 

She said among the products sold were bags, clothes and plant-themed interior decorations.

 

 

 

“This carnival gives exposure to my company and more people have the opportunity to get to know the product.

 

“From this carnival, I also get a lot of inquiries because my sewing craft products are made from fabric printed with plant motifs…it is unique so many people are interested,” said Norida who has been running the company for the past four years when met at KBM 2022 Opening Ceremony, here Friday.

 

KBM 2022 in Johor was officiated by Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

 

 

KBM 2022 held in Johor starting today (14 Oct) until 16 Oct, attracted 127 local product entrepreneurs including giant companies such as Petronas, Perodua, Shopee, Lazada and creative company Les’ Copaque.

 

As for the seller of Premium Salted Fish Sambal By Nakee, Norafzan Abdul Manaf, 42 said that although the carnival had just started today, she had managed to sell more than 40 bottles of sambal.

 

“The response has been incredible as people have already started coming to buy early in the morning even though the products are new and I have yet to release them.

 

“Salted fish such as ikan kurau (Indian threadfin), ikan tenggiri (Spanish mackerel) and dried squid which I sell have their own unique characteristics and can be eaten straight away,” she said.
