Kuala lumpur: The failure-free run (FFR) for the Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) train service has yet to commence due to ongoing issues, stated Transport Minister Anthony Loke. A meeting between Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (Prasarana) and the main contractor is scheduled for next week to determine the next steps and inform the Transport Ministry about the commencement date for the FFR.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, there is currently no fixed date for the FFR to begin. The FFR is essential for all trains on the line before trial operations can start. Presently, only three LRT3 train sets have successfully completed the FFR. Loke emphasized that despite the delay, safety remains the priority.
Previously, Prasarana confirmed that the LRT3 line could not start operations last December due to unresolved system stability and software issues detected during the testing and commissioning phase.
In addition, Loke mentioned that platform screen doors will be installed at 20 stations this year.
