M40 Also Gains From RON95 Price Cut, Toll Hike Postponement – PM Anwar

Kuala lumpur: The M40 group also benefits from government initiatives aimed at reducing the cost of living, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, stated that initiatives such as the reduction in RON95 fuel prices and the postponement of toll rate hikes for 10 highways nationwide are among the benefits the M40 group stands to gain.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, speaking at the ministry's monthly assembly, Anwar highlighted that the M40 group frequently uses vehicles and toll roads, thus benefiting significantly from these measures. He emphasized that while initial efforts focused on the hardcore poor and the B40 group, the government is now extending its initiatives to support the M40 group.

Anwar reassured that patience is required for the implementation of these initiatives, but expressed gratitude for the positive impact on the M40 group and above. Both the RON95 fuel price reduction and toll initiatives are designed to alleviate financial burdens.

In his recent 'Appreciation Announcement for Malaysians', Anwar revealed the government's decision to postpone toll rate hikes for 10 highways, allowing the public to continue enjoying current rates. The highways include the Senai-Desaru Expressway (SDE), East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2), South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE), Butterworth Outer Ring Road (LLB), and the KL-Putrajaya Expressway (MEX).

Additionally, Anwar announced a reduction in RON95 fuel prices as part of the targeted fuel subsidy plan. Malaysians are expected to benefit from a lower price of RM1.99 per litre by the end of September, compared to the current RM2.05 per litre.
