M40 Group Among Focus Of Budget 2027 Initiatives – Finance Minister’s Aide

Teluk batik: Budget 2027 is expected to place particular emphasis on efforts to address socioeconomic issues, including the welfare of the middle-income (M40) and lower-income groups, according to an aide of the Finance Minister. Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim, who is political secretary to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, stated that the focus on both groups was necessary as they are among those most affected by economic pressures and current cost-of-living challenges.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Kamil mentioned that the upcoming Budget, to be announced by the Prime Minister, is designed to be more inclusive. It aims to be closer to the people and address various problems and issues that have arisen. He noted that direct engagement sessions with all stakeholders are currently underway to finalize the Budget.

Muhammad Kamil made these remarks after officiating the National Khatam Keris Traditional Ceremony organized by the Perak branch of the Pertubuhan Silat Seni Gayong Malaysia Kebangsaan and the Silat Anak-Anak Gayong Perak Gathering at Teluk Batik Campsite. Anwar, who serves as both Prime Minister and Finance Minister, is scheduled to table Budget 2027 in the Dewan Rakyat on October 9.

He further explained that existing initiatives such as the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) would continue to be strengthened to alleviate the financial burden on households. Assistance programs like STR and SARA will persist, and further announcements by the Finance Minister are anticipated.

Muhammad Kamil also indicated that the government is considering proposals to improve existing initiatives and potentially introduce other forms of financial support to ease the burden on middle-income households. He emphasized that the government's priorities remain focused on maintaining political and economic stability to ensure the smooth implementation of national policies.
