MACC and IACA Collaborate to Enhance Global Anti-Corruption Efforts

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) signed a letter of intent (LOI) with the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) to explore new opportunities in the corruption prevention field at the international level.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the LOI was signed by MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki and IACA Deacon Prof Slagjana Tasevayang. The collaboration aims to leverage both organizations' expertise in capacity building and combatting corruption, allowing MACC officers and regional partners to benefit from global expertise, academic resources, and IACA's professional network.

Azam commented on the importance of this collaboration, emphasizing the challenges brought by global technological advancements, which have led to transnational corruption, complex financial crime, and sophisticated digital threats. He highlighted that no agency or country can combat these issues alone.

The event was attended by notable figures, including IACA advisor Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed, MACC Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy senior director Datuk Mohd Hafaz Nazar, and MACC Policy, Planning and Research Division director Rasidah Abdul Karim.
