MACC Calls for Collaboration with Private Sector, GLCs, and NGOs in Anti-Corruption Drive

Negeri sembilan: The private sector, government-linked companies (GLCs), and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have been urged to serve as collaborative partners of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to strengthen anti-corruption efforts across the country.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Negeri Sembilan MACC director Awgkok Ahmad Taufik Putra Awg Ismail emphasized that efforts to combat corruption cannot be shouldered by the MACC alone, but require the support of various stakeholders. He highlighted that private companies and GLCs could play a crucial role in supporting anti-corruption initiatives, including organising anti-corruption programmes. "The fight against corruption is a shared responsibility of all citizens, regardless of age, role, or background," he said during the launch of the state-level International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD) 2025 celebration.

The event was a collaborative effort, jointly organised by the Negeri Sembilan MACC, Pertubuhan IKRAM Malaysia, and Rasuah Busters. It attracted nearly 200 participants, including NGO representatives, students, and members of the public, all aimed at encouraging wider participation in supporting the national agenda to combat corruption.

Additionally, Pertubuhan IKRAM Malaysia president Badlishah Sham Baharin expressed the organisation's readiness to support the MACC as part of a collective effort to cultivate a society with high integrity.
