Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirmed having arrested businessman Albert Tei at his home in Puchong, Selangor, this morning. MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki stated that the arrest was conducted according to standard procedures.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MACC has refuted allegations that its officers used a firearm during Tei's arrest. Azam Baki emphasized that a police report has been filed to facilitate an investigation into the claim, which he labeled as defamatory.
Azam further mentioned that the report aims to prevent the spread of false information that could potentially interfere with the commission's ongoing investigation. Earlier reports indicated that Tei was taken into custody by MACC officers after the anti-graft agency executed a raid on his residence.
