Kuala lumpur: A deputy public prosecutor (DPP) attached to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), who was arrested yesterday for alleged drug possession, has been remanded for three days until tomorrow. Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the case is being investigated under Section 12(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed the arrest and ongoing investigation of the DPP. The MACC had earlier issued a statement confirming the arrest of the DPP, who had just started his duties at the commission last week.
The MACC emphasized its firm stance on not compromising on any misconduct, breach of the law, or criminal act perpetrated by its officers or staff. The commission reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining integrity and governance within the organization.
