Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) recorded a statement from Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan to assist in the investigation regarding the latest video revelation by businessman Albert Tei.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MACC's chief commissioner, Tan Sri Azam Baki, stated that investigations into the video are still ongoing, with more than 10 witness statements having been recorded so far. Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, along with his officers, was among those called to provide a statement. Azam Baki also mentioned that Albert Tei would be contacted for his statement as part of the investigation.
Azam Baki, speaking after the 58th MACC Anniversary Celebrations at Puspanita Puri, indicated that other witnesses would continue to be called in. He noted the release of a new video by a portal, which would be reviewed based on the available evidence.
The investigation into the video was confirmed by MACC on September 24th. Azam Baki had previously announced that the investigation was initiated following the video's exposure on an online portal. He instructed the Sabah MACC to extend the investigation with new information and to ensure both individuals involved are called to complete the process.
