MACC Seeks Interpol Red Notice for Daim’s Sons Over Probe Non-Compliance

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has announced its intention to seek a Red Notice from Interpol against three individuals, including two sons of the late Tun Daim Zainuddin. This move comes after their failure to attend a scheduled probe at the MACC Headquarters.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the MACC is taking a strict approach due to the absence of Tun Daim's sons, Muhammed Amir Zainuddin and Muhammed Amin Zainuddin, despite being summoned through three separate attendance orders dated February 13, March 11, and April 6, 2026. Their lawyers had previously committed to their presence on April 6, yet they failed to appear without providing a reasonable excuse. Another individual, Josephine Premla, also did not attend despite being instructed by the MACC.

In contrast, Tun Daim's other two children complied with the agency's instructions. Asnida Zainuddin attended the proceedings, while Md Wira Dani had informed the MACC of his absence in advance. Due to the non-compliance of the three individuals, the MACC plans to activate the Red Notice through Interpol and collaborate with the Immigration Department to monitor and restrict their travel movements and passport status.

Legal action under Section 48(c) of the MACC Act 2009 will be pursued against the individuals for not adhering to attendance orders issued under Section 30(1)(a) of the same Act. The MACC emphasized its commitment to enforcing compliance with its directives, stating that non-compliance will result in strict enforcement action.

The MACC had previously issued notices on February 28 to locate Tun Daim's four children after they failed to respond to two official notices. This development is part of Ops Godfather, an investigation into offshore companies and assets linked to Tun Daim, his family members, and business associates.
