Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will step up efforts to combat corruption, leakages, and abuse of power by enhancing operational capacity, strengthening forensic investigations, recovering assets, and implementing preventive measures. Its Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki stated these initiatives align with the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, which emphasizes the need to strengthen governance, integrity, and accountability.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the commission is also focusing on integrity education within society to instill such values and nurture principled, resilient citizens. Azam Baki expressed that the MACC understands the people's expectations and is committed to making Malaysia corruption-free, thereby strengthening the national economy.
He further mentioned the commission's firm support for the government and the people to realize the aspirations of the 13MP, ensuring that the country's socioeconomic development remains sustainable and benefits the people fairly and equitably.
