Kuala lumpur: The National Farmers' Organisation (NAFAS) is set to make the Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 a platform to strengthen the national agricultural input supply chain, including through a strategic collaboration worth RM1.5 billion in the phosphate fertiliser industry.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, NAFAS announced that the collaboration is among the highlights of the strategic agenda at MAHA 2026 through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Sept 4 with Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group Co. Ltd (GPC) and Jiangsu Chemical Design Institute (CDIJS). The cooperation involves the development of an integrated phosphate fertiliser industry chain, ensuring the supply of raw materials and technology transfer, thereby reflecting NAFAS's efforts to strengthen the foundation of national food security.
MAHA 2026, which carries the theme 'Value Creation for Food Security', will take place from Aug 28 to Sept 6 at the Malaysian Agricultural Expo Park Serdang (MAEPS). According to NAFAS, its participation this time is not just about showcasing products, but rather combining elements of promotion, interactive activities, knowledge sharing, agricultural technology and strategic collaboration networks.
Throughout the 10-day event, NAFAS will be present at several key locations, including the NAFAS Pavilion in Hall A, Laman Padi, Laman Smart Farming and Laman Tiba 1 (Kingdom of Agrofood), with different activities for visitors to explore. At the NAFAS Pavilion, visitors have the opportunity to obtain products and promotions from NAFAS and its subsidiaries, as well as participate in activities such as the Farmer x SERASA Happy Hour, Investment Game and Lucky Draw.
Various activities will also be held with Suria FM, including the Big Cup Challenge, Spin and Win, Happy Hour, and the 1 Minute Fertiliser Stack Challenge, in addition to the NAFAS Grand Prize lucky draw which will be announced on the last day of MAHA 2026. NAFAS announced that the Laman Smart Farming, Laman Tiba 1 and Laman Padi highlight technology, innovation and modern agriculture, while also showcasing the organisation's role in supporting the development of the agricultural industry and national food security.
Visitors also have the opportunity to participate in Pocket Talk and Bicara Inspirasi sessions related to plant fertilisation, good agricultural practices, soil management and restoration, the use of dolomite, and the role of NAFAS in the development of the national rice industry. In addition, Baja Premium Care will also be launched at MAHA 2026 as part of NAFAS's efforts to introduce new innovations and solutions in the field of fertilisation.
Meanwhile, MAHA 2026 also serves as a platform for NAFAS to strengthen strategic networks through several MoUs and Memorandums of Agreement with industry players, agencies, and related institutions in the fields of agriculture, agricultural inputs, fertilisation, digitalisation and the agri-food supply chain. NAFAS said that the entire content reflects its commitment to strengthening the agricultural input supply chain, expanding cooperation networks, and exploring new opportunities that can add value to the country's agricultural sector.
