Subang: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) and Mitsui Fudosan Group (Mitsui Fudosan) will undertake an RM80 million investment to develop a new air cargo logistics complex, with MAHB holding a 30 per cent stake and Mitsui Fudosan owning the remaining 70 per cent.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook stated that the partnership was part of MAHB's strategy to leverage its airport land assets by combining them with the expertise of strategic partners in developing and operating logistics complexes. He highlighted Mitsui Fudosan's experience in Japan, noting that their expertise, demonstrated through their work on logistics complexes at Haneda Airport, will be instrumental in mitigating risks for Malaysia Airports.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Subang maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) Logistics Complex Project was held on Thursday. The new industrial development within Subang Aerotech Park is being developed by MFMA Industrial Sdn Bhd, a joint venture between Mitsui Fudosan (Asia) Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Malaysia Airports (Subang) Sdn Bhd.
The facility represents a strategic investment aimed at supporting the growth of aviation and aerospace-related businesses within the Subang Airport area.
