Kuala Lumpur: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi welcomed a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at Parliament today to explore potential areas for strategic cooperation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the meeting was attended by representatives from relevant ministries and agencies, who contributed to discussions focused on strengthening Malaysia's ties with ADB. The dialogue emphasized three main areas: ASEAN chairmanship, the private sector's role, and knowledge development.
During the meeting, Ahmad Zahid underscored Malaysia's dedication to enhancing the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, expanding regional transport networks, and improving economic integration with neighboring countries. He also shared insights on global economic trends and the strategic measures necessary to address current economic uncertainties.
Ahmad Zahid expressed optimism about the outcomes of the discussions, stating, "Insya-Allah, I am optimistic that this discussion will pave the way for closer cooperation and bring significant benefits to both parties."
ADB, established in 1966, is a regional financial institution that aims to promote economic and social development across Asia. It provides loans, financing, and technical support to member countries to facilitate socio-economic progress.
