According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Johor Bahru announced that the agreements include the supply of Indonesian food products to Johor and Pahang and collaboration in the oil and gas sector, skills training, and health tourism.

The agreements were signed during the Trade Expo Indonesia 2026, held in Tangerang, Indonesia, with support from the Consulate General. The first agreement, valued at US$134,652 (approximately RM565,000), involves a partnership between Malaysia's MAW Global Trading and Indonesia's CV Berkah Pangan Nusantara from East Java. This deal will see MAW Global Trading importing food products such as flavored flour, cooking spices, and seasonings for distribution in Johor and Pahang.

The second agreement, estimated at US$100,000 (about RM420,000), was signed between the Dumai City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and Malaysia's Malay Economic Development Chamber (MEDC). This partnership focuses on investment and business development in the oil and gas sector, worker skills training and certification, and health tourism. The collaboration is set to begin soon, with further technical discussions planned.

Indonesia's Consul General in Johor Bahru, Sigit S Widiyanto, highlighted the potential for Indonesian food products to expand into Melaka and Negeri Sembilan, beyond Johor and Pahang. He also emphasized that the KADIN Dumai-MEDC cooperation could unlock new investment opportunities in priority sectors.

The Consulate General will continue to facilitate business meetings and technical discussions to enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
