Zallaq: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, emphasized the promising potential for strengthening and expanding cooperation between Malaysia and Bahrain, citing the close diplomatic and friendly relations that exist between the two nations. Sultan Ibrahim highlighted Bahrain's role as an important strategic partner for Malaysia and expressed optimism that bilateral ties, especially within the economic sector, would continue to flourish in alignment with the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sultan Ibrahim underscored the mutual respect and shared values between Bahrain and Malaysia, which are grounded in a spirit of brotherhood and a commitment to peace, prosperity, and progress. He expressed his hope that his State Visit would mark the beginning of a new chapter in shaping the future direction of relations between the two countries. His remarks were made during an address at a State Banquet hosted by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain at the Sakhir Palace, coinciding with Sultan Ibrahim's three-day State Visit.
King Hamad reaffirmed Bahrain's dedication to being a sincere and constructive long-term strategic partner for Malaysia. He noted Malaysia's significant achievements in business, industry, and agriculture, which align with Bahrain's strengths. King Hamad identified numerous opportunities for mutual benefit, particularly in sectors such as banking, financial technology, tourism, agriculture, and infrastructure development. He expressed hope that the friendship between the two nations would continue to grow and flourish in the coming years.
Upon arriving at the Sakhir Palace in Zallaq, Sultan Ibrahim was warmly welcomed by King Hamad, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, and the Bahraini Royal Family. Sultan Ibrahim was accompanied by members of the Johor royal family, including Tunku Idris Iskandar Al-Haj, Tunku Abdul Rahman Al-Haj, and Tunku Abu Bakar Al-Haj.
This visit marks Sultan Ibrahim's sixth state visit following trips to Singapore, China, Brunei, Russia, and Saudi Arabia. It also represents a historic milestone in Malaysia-Bahrain relations as the first royal visit since 1974.
